Amazon Customer 1.0 out of 5 stars This phone stopped working after only 6 months of minimal use. The reason I purchased this phone was as a last resort in case they run into any trouble up there. Imagine my parents trying to call an ambulance if there were a medical emergency. The reason I chose this phone is because it looked absolutely foolproof. It's a physically wired handset with large buttons. What could go wrong. Cheap construction maybe at a premium price. Poor customer service. Contacted vendor, EZ living aids, who refused to take return or exchange. If that's the experience you're looking for, you've come to the right place. Also, even if I didn't have problems, it is not a good phone to begin with.

It's loud-ish, but the microphone has one small hole to it that is easily covered up if the handset isn't held just right. Not good. Avoid.She is in assisted living and having some memory problems. Having a number of pre-programmed numbers, along with the large buttons has made her life easier. A helpful hint for programming: put the most commonly dialed numbers at the BOTTOM of the list. Those are closer to the person when they are seated. You can program in a 9 with a pause for outside lines with this phone. There is a less expensive phone where you have to flip a switch to change between the push button dial and the pre-programmed numbers. I know with my mom's memory issues she would not be able to handle this. So paying a little more for this phone was worth the money. It's a great phone. We did buy a longer cord for the hand set.I sent the phone up and it was relatively simple to do so. The storage feature is easy to navigate and quite possibly, some of the issues others might be having is that the batteries need to be placed in correctly. It sounds like a no-brainer, but it does happen. Next, the speaker phone and corresponding speaker is substantial and clear. I found that my father’s constant use of this feature in his previous telephone degraded this feature. So far, the clarity is strong and the ease of use is high. The buttons are large and this is also a nice effect for those peoples that have some issues with their vision and access. The phone itself is substantial and well made. It was dropped and nothing to report. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. I would have liked a black telephone for the kitchen but overall, great.It works pretty well, loud enough but not quite as clear for her at high volume. Adjusting the tone helped, and the features let you adjust volume, and choose full-time high volume or on-demand high volume. Ringer volume adjusts and can be plenty loud.
